Tamera,
I just finished 'A Lasting Impression', and enjoyed it completely. You have such a way with your characters - I become so invested in their lives, and eager for their happy endings, while appreciating their journeys to that end. Their honesty and realism is unique, and not something many authors can bring to life. I just want to thank you for writing such wonderful books. I own them all, and eagerly anticipate every one you will write in the future. I can't wait to go back to Belmont Mansion - possibly with Cara Netta or Miss Cenas, perhaps? They may have stories to tell... :-) Write fast!
Angela
Tamera,
I just finished A LASTING IMPRESSION and cannot thank you enough for such a wonderfully crafted story. I have so appreciated all of your works. Many thanks for you and your talents which you use to honor the Lord. Keep writing!
Shirley
Dear Tamera,
I have just finished reading A Lasting Impression and can't tell you how much I enjoyed it and appreciated it and look forward to the next book in the series. Having read all of your books (discovered serendipitously just browsing through the library) I can say that you do a remarkable job in presenting in depth characters to whom I can readily relate. And I appreciate your incorporation of faith without being "preachy."
Blessings!
Cynthia
Dear Tamera...
I have read EVERY book you have written and find putting them down, near impossible! You have such an amazing gift for detail and capturing emotion that I feel like I'm watching a movie or living it myself- not reading a book. You make your reader understand everything from the eye of each character, and you make your characters so real, I have to remind myself that they're not. You also have a wonderful way of incorprating God's Word in your stories that truly blesses my spirit. I feel like I'm being refined right along with the characters.
I hope and pray your planning a 4th book for the Fountain Creek Chronicles, with it's focus on Lily Carlson. An older version of course, maybe in her 20's, with Peter as the possible hero and that Jeremy kicking himself for having laughed at her. The Carlson's have been such an important part of the series, especially in Remembered. I would love to know what happens to Lily and if she ever gets that dance.
I can't wait to read your upcoming books. Thank you for sharing your faith and talents with the rest of us!
~Amanda Rose
(Tamera here: Thanks, Amanda, for your note! I'd love to write another book or two in the Fountain Creek Chronicles series. Perhaps that door will open somewhere down the road. I hope so!)
My best friend and I thoroughly enjoy your books. We read them and then discuss them like the characters are our family and friends. Thank you so much for such a special thing to share.
~ Natasha Phipps
Love your writing. I'm in love with the Colorado Territory and can't get enough!!! My daughter introduced me to your books. Keep up the wonderful work...you are a gift from God! Bless you!
~ Susan Beldyga
I just wanted to say "Thank You" for writing such great stories that real people can identify with. I have read all of your books (except for the latest 2, but I can't wait to read them) and I just reread "Rekindled" and it was better the 2nd time around! Being a Christian and having God's forgiveness and grace is an amazing gift. It's not always an easy gift to understand or accept, because we as humans are not worthy. I find comfort reading your books, because they let me see that I'm not the only person who feels that way. We are all human and we all have pasts that we are not proud of, but with God's forgiveness we can lay those pasts behind and move forward.
Also thank you for writing romance novels that I'm not afraid for my little girls to pick up and read. That's so refreshing. I pray for continued success and I can't wait for your future books. Is there a chance that your books will be turned into movies?
Your sister in Christ,
Tiffany Jackson
I just finished your second book, Revealed, and loved both books. I've read Christian fiction for years, and especially like Janette Oke and Lori Wick. I love your characters and the way that you give them room to not be perfect, and to have their hearts and lives changed through Jesus. I look forward to your next book.
~Shirley Kaye
It seems strange to say this, since I'm just a 27-year-old pre-writer you've never met, but I'm so proud of you! A few years ago, I was writing book reviews for the Christian magazine I worked for and a review copy of Rekindled came across my desk. I read the whole book in one day, and I knew you were different from the vast majority of authors writing Christian books today--you were in the league of Angela Hunt and Randy Alcorn. I knew that day that you would be incredibly successful and God was using you to not just raise the bar for Christian writers, but to have an eternal impact on the lives of your readers. And now you're doing just that.
Congratulations on your success and I'll be praying for you as you continue to learn and teach more about God.
~Elizabeth
I just got finished reading From a Distance. I was so touched by this book. What happened in Elizabeth’s life (regarding her dream) is exactly what the Lord did in my life. I have gone through some life-shaking tragedy in my life and marriage...I was completely shattered, dreams and all. And now, the lord has put me back together and given me even bigger/better dreams. I am a homemaker/homeschooler of 13 years. My ministry is my family. Since my brokenness, the Lord has given me the opportunity to start college (which I did a week ago. He's done so much more!
I just wanted to say thanks again for touching my life. I wrote to you before about your Rekindled book and how the Lord used that to help me be patient in my marriage and to trust Him. Well the good news is, my marriage is better than I could have imagined, and is growing strong! We've been married 20 years now.
So God bless you Tamera! When I read your books, I feel as if I am reading a letter from a friend. You really have touched my life!!
Your sister in Christ,
Angela
I have actually never written to an author before but felt I would now. I have just finished both of your books (Rekindled and Revealed) and enjoyed them very much. My daughter who is 19 read them both and asked me to read them so I did. We share a love of reading.
I must say that over the years it has gotten increasingly harder to find books of quality that don't have a bunch of situations that I would be (and should be) embarrassed for my daughter to read. I love historical fiction yet most have so much sex in them that I can't read them. So my daughter and I wanted to thank you for sharing with us stories of substance with out the unneeded or unwanted sex.
We both agree that your books also didn't verge on the corny, hokey, cheesy side as sometimes can be the case with the Christian Fiction genre. A lot of that genre tend to preach more than tell the story and that can be tiresome to read. While I am a student of the Bible I would rather my recreational reading be of the entertaining nature than of the preachy. Even the Bible tells stories or accounts rather than preach.
Although our family is of a different religious belief we appreciate how it is incorporated into the novels. We cannot wait for your next novel of the Fountain Creek Chronicles.
Mrs. Alexander, I hope that I have expressed to you how much we thoroughly enjoyed you creations. Now that I have finished reading maybe I can get some house work done and feed my family on time! They were tough books to put down even to care for my family! I haven't been able to say that in a while!
With much appreciation,
~Wendy
What a beautiful, wonderful story Rekindled is. It touched me in unexpected ways… Some books grab hold of us in ways we never expected, and yours certainly did that for me. I loved your characters and felt challenged to give God's love more consistently and without prejudice to those with physical and emotional scars.
~Nancy Jo
I wanted to thank you so much for the Fountain Creek Chronicles! They have so deeply inspired me and have left a special memory in my heart that I will never forget! I teach seventh grade English and to stop and read something like this is so refreshing! I'm not sure if I can wait too long until the third book! Again, thank you for Kathryn and Annabelle! Have a wonderful day! God Bless!
~Robyn
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed Rekindled and Revealed! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of both books and I was even saddened when I turned the last page! Although I have been a Christian for some time, I was skeptical of Christian fiction books... I thought they were only Christian "fairy-tale" romances with overly simplistic stories -- until about a month ago when I first read the synopsis of Rekindled online (at Christianbook.com) and decided to give the book a chance. Now, I am so very glad I did!
I really love your detailed portrayal of the characters (their thoughts, reactions, and emotional feelings)... some authors do not include this level of detail, but this is the quality that creates an engrossing scene and distinguishes a great book. This really helps the reader connect with each character and makes them seem more personable and real.
Further, I applaud your ability to combine romance, suspense, and drama into one spellbinding story! I love how your romance books have action and suspense too, not just page after page of lovey-dovey stuff. Both books had moments in which I caught myself holding my breath and glancing ahead. I also appreciate your ability to make your stories realistic while carrying through a poignant message about God's love and grace. Your books have just enough "grit" (realism) to make them seem true, but not so much they seem dark and depressing. The reader is left with an uplifting, positive feeling.
Some Christian authors write a basically secular story and throw in a Bible verse or reference every now and then, but your books carry a true message as the reader witnesses the transformation of the characters' lives.
Please continue writing these fabulous books and consider starting more series... I will be watching for them! You have a God-given gift for writing, and you have blessed me and countless other readers.
~Stephanie
I loved Rekindled. I felt the anguish of Larson as he watched his wife from afar. I loved watching them fall in love all over again. I loved that the characters weren't perfect, but that they were growing throughout the book. A great read. I look forward to reading your other books.
~Kristi
I recently read Revealed, and I just wanted you to know that I found the book to be really delightful. The characters are so real, and the spiritual truths inspiring. I would like to see a made for TV movie of that story!! I read aloud to my mother, and that way we both get to enjoy books. I will be looking forward to your future writings, and plan on reading Rekindled.
~Wardie
I love the spirit of Kathryn Jennings. I saw unconditional love displayed in this book, and God's grace is so profoundly seen in the lives of these characters. Tamera Alexander does a fantastic job with this book. I couldn't put it down
